SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT

The Solid Waste Management Project started in 2019. Lower Nicola Indian Band successfully applied for funding to study, plan, and implement LNIB’s solid waste management program and services.

Project motivations

Improving services for members;
Protecting the environment; and
Reducing program and service costs.

Solid Waste Project categories and relative goals

Garbage — reduce the volume of solid waste produced by the community;
Recycling — divert as much waste as possible from the garbage stream;
Illegal Dumping — eliminate illegal dumping on LNIB lands; and
Financial Costs — reduce the financial burden of solid waste management on LNIB.
